Erie Shores Health Foundation is excited to announce the results of the 2020 Erie Shores Hospice LifeWalk event. This year, due to social distancing requirements, the annual events were held “virtually” for the first time. This year, June was turned into LifeWalk Month and participants and paid tribute to those they were honouring. Participants were asked to “choose a challenge” or goal to complete during the month of June, and share their personal challenge with friends and family. Challenges ranged from biking x3 a week, to running 200KM during the month, to making the trek from Kingsville to Leamington and back!
The funds raised as a part of LifeWalk will go towards covering the unfunded costs for the Residential Home and Welcome Centre at the Hospice Erie Shores Campus.
“We are thrilled with the response we received and how engaged people were through the virtual event,” Christine Colautti, Executive Director for the Erie Shores Health Foundation. “A special thank you to our lead sponsor, TD Bank and our generous donors for their continued support and commitment to our cause. By fundraising community donations to cover the government funding shortfall, we can ensure programs and services are continued to be offered to residents and their families at no cost.”
ESHF worked alongside The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County in coordinating the virtual event for each location, and thanks to the support of our community the Hospice LifeWalk raised more than $45,000 combined for our local Hospice campuses (Windsor and Erie Shores).
